The public school district for Boise, Idaho is the Independant School District Of Boise City #1. With 34 elementary schools, 8 junior high schools, 6 regular senior high schools, and 4 specialty senior high schools. These specialty high schools are not strictly for those with learning disabilities: The Marian Pritchett High School is a school focused towards the needs of pregnant teens, helping young women to earn their high school diplomas rather than dropping out of school to care for their baby. With help from the Salvation Army, residential living is provided for students 18 years and older, as well as on-site daycare, counseling and social work services. The Boise Evening School, located in Borah High School allows any student over the age of 16 who has not yet graduated high school to obtain their diploma without the regular time restraints of day school. They also provide opportunities for students to graduate early or make up classes to graduate on time by taking additional classes. With so much focus on giving students their complete education, Boise is certainly an excellent place to raise children.
Boise is also home to 17 private elementary schools, 3 private high schools, 3 private full-range schools (kindergarten to grade 12), and 6 private pre/kindergarten schools.
